The park that isn't
Ahepa Park, Webster
When my husband and I take our semi-regular bike rides from our Penfield home into the village of Webster, we pass by a small open natural area with a pavilion. It calls itself a park but it really isn't much of one.
Ahepa Dedetsinas Papapanou Park is located on Harmony Station Road in a neighborhood between Shoecraft and Jackson roads. The best way I can describe this park is with this photo:
That's me, hiding in the grass. The only time in my recent memory that this park has NOT been knee-high with weeds and grass is during the winter. Clearly it is not tended at all, which is unfortunate as the park was created in 1993 to honor the Detesinas Papapanou families.
You won't find much about it online, either, which makes me think it's pretty much an embarrassment for the town. There is one review where a woman says it's a great place to walk your dog.
I hope she has a Great Dane.
